Coffee leaf

Leaf Pendant

A differentiated interpretation of the coffee leaf gave rise to the leaf paste. The coffee tree, scientifically named Coffea sp., it is a shrub of the family Rubiaceae and of the genus Coffea L. From these plants are harvested the seeds with which one prepares one of the most known and consumed drinks of the world: the coffee. Coffee is grown in many tropical countries, both for own consumption and for export to temperate countries. The largest producer and exporter of coffee in the world is Brazil, followed by Vietnam and Colombia. During a research, the students of the Masters in International Business in Bordeaux, Max Rivest and Arnaud Petitvallet, have been able to prove that the leaves of the coffee can be converted into a delicious infusion. This infusion is low in caffeine and is an incomparable source of polyphenols and antioxidants, at levels higher than those found in green tea. From this discovery, Wize Monkey was born, a company that works in the production and export of coffee leaf tea.

The beauty of this plant, its leaves in particular, allowed to inspire the design of this singular pendant, which, when accompanied by the cotton threads decorated with small metallic beads form a piece of high beauty.
